As the Premier League is moving towards the Gameweek 19 of the 2020/21 season, the matches are getting more tough and thick. The next awaited match between Liverpool and Burnley is through and through to happen on 22nd January 2021. The recent performances of both the teams have been lower than expected by the fans and hence, it is yet to watch if the tables would be turned in the match tomorrow. Sharing some team previews for each team below.
Liverpool: After being the pacesetters in the Premier League for a long time, LIV is stuttering in the performances recently. Klopp’s team failed to secure one single victory in the last four divisional games. The matches of Liverpool against WBA, Newcastle and Manchester United drew and lost the match with Southampton. This made their spot in the table slip to 4th position with 34 points. The last match with Burnley took place at Anfield in July 2020 which was a draw by 1-1 and this ended their 42-match Premier League scoring streak at Anfield. LIV has managed to score only one goal in their last four games. Mohamed Salah has been the most consistent player of LIV this season. LIV does have good news that Joel Matip is available again to be selected. This would let Jordan Henderson return to his role in the middle of the park and Matip set to pair up with Fabinho at the defense. If he would play is yet to be revealed.
Probable Players line-up (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Henderson, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Burnley: BUR has experienced three defeats in their last four Premier League games. Their back-to-back 1-0 losses have tripped them to the 17th position in the League with 16 points. Having the division’s lowest goalscoring record, with nine goals after 17 fixtures, makes their performance scoreboard even less calling. Charlie Taylor’s availability is raising some hopes for the team. Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood are the two BUR strikers holding the defense of the team. With such low scoring scores and the previous performances, it’s high time BUR score some goals.
Probable Players line-up (4-4-2): Pope; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Brady, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil; Barnes, Wood
Predictions: Even though there is a vast gap in their scores and position on the table, looking at LIV’s performance, the match is gonna be a tough one. Yet, the chances of winning are higher with LIV. BUR having the worst goalscoring record in the League and LIV have bizarrely lacked the threat in the final third. The game doesn’t seem to have too many goals. This has been a strange season for Mohamed Salah. The overall criteria show a win for LIV or it is also looking like a draw.
